More Kind Words…
The people I've had review my book have so far had mostly good things to say, so I was excited when Brett e-mailed me with this posting over on his site. Here's an excerpt:
As the title suggests, it is aimed squarely at Web Developers, but thanks to a relaxed writing style, there is something for everyone in this book. If you are a professional Web Developer, there are a few new tricks in this book that will send you running to your text editor to try them out. For the novice, this is a book that will grow with you and give you new challenges to overcome as your skills improve.
Praise of this sort is really heartening given the amount of time it took to write, compile, and edit. Brett, just like the other reviewers, has provided so much insight into what Web developers (other than myself) want in a JavaScript book. I'm glad that I guess right, for the most part, and I hope the rest of you think so as well.
Finally, an Author!
Well, it's official. I hold in my hand the contract to write Professional JavaScript for Web Developers (working title) for Wiley Publishing. It's taken over a year to get to this point. I was turned down by two smaller publishers initially before landing with Wiley. I'm very excited about this opportunity, and though I know it's going to be a lot of work, it will be well worth it.
