Wireless in New York

I was in New York last weekend, and the hotel we stayed at had not only free Internet access, but free wireless Internet access. I have an 802.11g card in my laptop, so I just fired it up and it immediately detected the network. I was so impressed, and so glad that I have a wireless network at home and so had a wireless card in my laptop. I really hope this is an emerging trend in hotels.

Minor Rant

Can I just tell you how annoying it is to have programs automatically reboot the computer? I was just working on a paper for school when Norton Antivirus popped up and said it was time to update. So, I figured I'd let it download the update while I was working. When it was done, I got an alert saying to click OK to reboot my computer...there was no cancel button. Who does that? At least give me an option to reboot later.

Survivor All Stars Finale

Just got done watching the Survivor All Stars Finale. In the past seasons, it has always amazed me how mad people get at those who voted them off. The first season I could understand, because no one knew what to expect...but in all the seasons that followed it seems like everyone should have known what to expect and not take things personally. I especially thought this would be true for All Stars, considering that every one of the players had played before. But yet, the jury was full of bitter people tonight going out of there way to be mean to people that they were friends with before the start of the game.

Did Rob and Amber sell out? Possibly. But every one of the people who complained about it on the jury had already stabbed another friend in the back, so in that regard, Shii Ann was right to say people in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. Lex, who complained the most about Rob's "backstabbing" than anyone...he did the exact same thing to his "friend" Ethan. I can't believe that these supposed adults are so angry about losing a game that they would throw away a friendship.

Really, it seems like sour grapes gave Amber the million. She really was a tag along, because Rob was the man this season. He had everyone wrapped around his little finger and manipulated himself right into the final two. I don't think anyone can even make the case that Amber played the game better than Rob. Although I guess in the long run, no matter who won, they both win. $1.1 million is certainly a good amount to go into a marriage with.
